Burton Troop Reviews
THIS BOARD IS AWESOME!!!!! I absolutely LOVE my Troop. It spins so nicely. It's got a buttery-soft flex and feels like you're riding on a cloud. Definetly one of the best women's park boards out there. Everyone I know that rides it, loves it. It also works fine on rails, boxes, and in the pipe. It turns very nicely and is very light. The not-so-great things about this board are that if you're more into freeriding, when you're carving down double diamond runs, it doesn't hold the carve to well, it's almost like you're in the air and because its so soft, it feels like it's gonna SNAP! I don't think it'll work too well in deep powder either. I would only reccomend this board to women who are dedicated to freestyle riding, otherwise, if you're more of the freeride kind of girl, I don't reccomend this board it's strictly for park/pipe.
The Burton Troop 52 is a truly dope stick for women... its light enough to not tweak your ankle on the lift, but substantial enough to ride all over the mountain... the board has a lot of flex and pop... it carves real nice and turns easily... the extruded base isn't super fast, but a little wax does wonders... its the perfect board for a medium sized intermediate female rider... I have had this board for 1/2 a season and have ridden it maybe 20 days, all over Mt. Hood... it floats easy in the pow, big air is effortless, did I mention how light it is?? Anyway ladies, this board is a ruler...
I came from a Ride Solace 142 and wanted the next best thing and I got it. Super fast, super light, super fun. I was worried that it wouldn't have enough flex and that it may be a bit difficult adding the extra 4cm to my board. I took it to Jackson Hole for it's debut and was in love!
A softer flex and great pop made for an unexpectedly fun ride. Where a lot of the all-mountain freestyle boards we tested lacked a bit, due to the attempt to make the board both all mountain and freestyle, the snappy flex and responsive feel made this board a pleasure. We’d recommend the Troop for girls who are interested in advancing their freestyle skills, but still need something that can handle the rest of the mountain.
This board is the perfect board for anyone. whether your a beginner or not. It rides a lot like the burton se7en (which is a mens board). I prefer to ride at high speeds and just bomb down the mountain, this board can handle that, it doesnt get floppy on you, however, I do ride the park ever so often and it is really good for that. the flex is the perfect amount for someone who wants an all around all mountain board. im 5'11 and weigh 120 and I ride the 151. I get Such good handle. I ride goofy, I turned my bindings to about 18 degrees. to me, I get best response with those settings.
I love my troop!!! It has perfect flex and floats so well in the powder. I don't do any park riding, so I don't know how it does in the park, but I've loved it everywhere else. Best board I've ever owned.
